  • Compelling question for our Project Based Inquiry (PBI) process:

How can we celebrate print reading while incorporating the excitement of digital technology?

  • Tools incorporated:
      • Storify
      • Screencast-O-Matic
      • Mindmeister Mapping
      • Google Drive
      • LibGuides
  • Considering each of the elements of the Digital Literacy Curriculum Framework as part of our instructional plan (Make widget full screen in order to interact with the elements. Click on the memo icon of any term to see notes):

Create your own mind maps at MindMeister
    • Authorship team: Leah Lubman, media specialist, and Jillian Belanger, ELL Coordinator at Paul Cuffee High School

    • Our purpose (e.g., informative, entertaining, persuasive): Informative, engaging (See MindMeister Map for more elaborate description of purposes.)

    • Who is your specific target audience? (e.g., teenagers, adults, certain occupation)

    • Genre or form of message do you wish to share with others (e.g. blog, tweet, novel, webpage): Library webpage extension (LibGuides)

    • Key content of our message: Reading is fun! And even though book reading is normally performed independently, sharing what you read can be social! Creating a digital review library will be an effective way to encourage students to get social about reading through the use of technology and digital media.

    • Values that will be communicated through image, language, and sound: Reading is FUN-damental!

    • Creative techniques to attract and hold audience attention: Short, student-generated videos, and a database searchable by student, book title, or author
